Implementation of the Wind Farm of Santo Antão
The wind farm of Santo Antão was co-financed by the Government of the Netherlands, in the frame work of the program PSOM/PSI. The main purpose of the program was the promotion of the private sector in selected developing countries, through economic partnerships between private national entrepreneurs and dutch private entrepreneurs. The company ELECTRIC WIND is then a joint venture between a capverdean company and a dutch company.
Some landmarks of the wind farm project implementation:
It was signed the co-financing agreement, with the Government of The Netherlands, awarding a 50% grant for the project implementation.
The Directorate of Energy awarded to the company the License of Independent Power Producer and it was also signed a Power Purchase Agreement with the national utility ELECTRA.
On April 2011, the wind park started into operation.
Implementation of the Wind Farm Recovery Project on São Vicente
The recovery of the Wind Park of 3x300kW on São Vicente is a partnership between the electric national utility – ELECTRA, as the wind park owner, and the company ELECTRIC WIND, as the promoter and present operator of the wind park.
The wind farm was installed on 1995 but become inactive between 2011 and 2017.
Some landmarks on the implementation process of the wind farm recovery project:
On May 2016 it was signed the Memorandum Agreement between ELECTRIC WIND and ELECTRA regarding the Project implementation.
On June 2016 started the wind farm recovery works.
On January 2018 it was signed the Power Purchase Agreement and the wind farm started into operation.
